What is agility?

Agility is FUN, FUN, FUN . . . and FUN

Dog agility is a sport where dog and handler compete against other dog and handler teams over a timed obstacle course. Imagine directing your dog while he/she races over jumps, weaves through poles, climbs ‘A’ frames, blasts through tunnels and rides the teeter totter.

Who can do agility?: Anyone who is physically able to handle the course requirements. This does not mean you have to be a fit athlete. As long as you can jog for 30 seconds you're good to go! As a matter of fact this is a great sport to help increase your fitness and activity level.

What dogs can do agility?: Any dog that is physically able to handle the course requirements. This means any breed, registered or unregistered. Just like the human counter parts your dog does not need to be an athlete, just healthy.

Dogs must be at least 6 months of age and be current on all puppy shots.

Agility is not recommended for dogs with leg, knee or hip concerns.

We regret we are unable to accept dogs that are aggressive toward people or other dogs.

What training does my dog require for agility?: If you are considering joining an introductory class then no previous training is required, however you will find as you progress that a sit, come and stay are necessary components for progress. But hey one step at a time!

What equipment is required?: A regular collar (no choke chains or pinch collars), a leash, your dog’s favorite treat and toy.
