About Gabriele...

Gabriele Hutton, Gaby to her friends, has had a lifelong love of dogs, but it wasn't until she witnessed a Wolfhound-X being abused that she actually had the opportunity to own one. Witnessing the abuse broke her heart, so after a little fancy-foot work and discussions with the owner, she obtained possession of Salty.

Gaby has never looked back. She currently owns three Border Collies - Megan, Jill and Brit.

Gaby has been involved with agility for over 20 years. Love for her dogs and the sport inspired her to win both the 2006 AAC (Agility Association of Canada) National Championships (16" specials) and the 2007 AAC BC/Yukon Regional Championships (16" specials) with her dog Megan. Megan has also earned the Agility Trial Championship of Canada title (ATChC) and just recently attained Gold Award of Merit. Gaby and Meg won the 2008 BC/Yukon Regional Agility Championships in the 10" Veterans Class with a score of 624.3 points representing the highest score of all dogs competing in the championships, and won the 2009 BC/Yukon Championships (10" Vet) with Megan.

Gaby and Jill currently compete at the Masters level where Jill has earned the Masters Gamblers Dog of Canada (MGDC), Masters Snooker Dog of Canada (MSDC) and Masters Agility Dog of Canada (MADC) titles.

In her constant pursuit of skill refinement, she has attended seminars with some of the best instructors in agility today. The list includes Barb Davis, Stuart Mah, Stacy Perodot-Goudy, Wade Robertson, Kathy Keaths and Kim Collins.

Gaby believes agility should be fun for both the dog and handler and teaches using only positive reinforcement techniques. She brings training knowledge gained from years as a masters' level AAC judge and her specialty is working with the handler to find a method that brings out the best in their dog.

To round out her dog training experience, Gaby has also found success with TC and his confirmation showing and Jill and Megan's sheep herding.
